WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

  • Sore spots from braces. Cold sores. BONJELA GEL CONTAIN TWO ACTIVE INGREDIENTS??CH CYLATE AND CETALKONIUM CHLORIDE. Ch cylate b a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

It is similar to??but not the same as aspirin. Ch cylate works by blocking the action of a substance in the body called cyclo-oxygenase. Cyclo-oxygenase is involved in the production of various chemicals in the body??including some known as prosta Prosta ave many actions??and are involved in causing inflammation. The body produces prosta n response to injury and they cause an increase in the blood supply to the area of damage. This results in swe t??redness and pain in that area. By blocking cyclo-oxygenase??ch cylate prevents the formation of prosta nd hence reduces inflammation and pain in the area of the mouth it is applied to. Cetalkonium chloride is an antiseptic that kills a variety of bacteria and fungi that might infect sore or broken skin in the mouth. The ch cylate in Bonjela gel is used to relieve the pain and discomfort caused by mouth ulcers??denture irritation??sore spots from braces and cold sores.

The antiseptic helps prevent the irritated areas from getting infected and this can help them heal. The gel should be massaged into the sore area of the mouth with a clean fingertip. For denture irritation??leave 30 minutes after applying the gel before putting the dentures back in.

**Don't apply the gel directly to the dentures??as this can further irritate the gums.
